1 World class software company!
…. A true global tech challenge
For many years the City of Joondalup has been working hard to make Joondalup a centre for innovation just as Redi Software has positioned itself to be not only Joondalup’s premier software and innovation company but one of the best in the country. Joondalup has certainly placed itself on the map and established itself as a tech hub. Joondalup is now attracting professionals and students from around the world.
Redi Software recognises that the next generations of innovators, entrepreneurs, developers and business leaders is critical to not only maintaining this momentum but continuing to push it forward. In addition to our strong belief in recruiting new local talent through our Intern and Graduate programs, we also believe in promoting and giving back where we can.
A major initiative is the Joondalup Innovation Challenge and Redi Software is proud to have been an enabler by sponsoring the event and being invited to not only set challenge questions but also to participate on the judging panel.
Split into multidisciplinary teams, students from participating organisations include University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and North Metro TAFE, Australian Institute of Workplace Training, National Institute of Technology and others abroad from countries such as India formed teams. After a series of virtual summit’s, training days including inspiring keynote speakers, teams were assigned industry mentors. Challenge questions are presented to the groups which attempt to answer them with creative, innovate ideas.
Redi Software set challenge questions based on true innovation topics across a series of different objectives including bringing together local business through the use of technology, innovating business communications and collaborations beyond just websites and social media and helping minority groups using new apps and tech. After several weeks of an intense fast-paced, high pressure environment of innovation, research, prototyping, research and creative thinking the teams were judged. Teams learned a plethora of new business and tech skills during this period supported by industry experts. The final groups had the opportunity to attend a pitch night to present their proposals to pitch panellists including our own CEO, Daniel Foster, The Mayor of Joondalup Albert Jacob, MetroNet CEO, Ashley Vincent and Charlie Gunningham the Director of, Innovation at Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
This incredible program and journey resulted in some incredible new concepts, innovative ideas and great projects. Redi Software was proud to be an integral part of this experience.
